QA Automation Engineer for a Finnish online wholesale marketplace start-up

We are seeking an Automation Test Engineer to contribute to the development of a Source-to-Order platform that simplifies the sourcing, ordering, and management of operational supplies for businesses across Europe. Since 2020, this platform has served over 1,500 industrial buyers and has partnered with over 150 leading European brands.

Role Overview:

As an Automation Test Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the development team and a Principal QA Engineer on test automation tasks. Your role will be critical in accelerating release cycles, scaling manual QA efforts for faster checks, and ensuring thorough coverage of our complex two-sided marketplace, customer-facing products, and internal tools. We are looking for someone who is passionate about building robust test suites across various interfaces, integrations, analytics, databases, ETL pipelines, and auxiliary applications.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience in end-to-end (E2E) testing, unit testing, backend integration, and backend unit testing.
  • Background in visual regression testing and building metrics for non-functional defects.
  • Experience in holistic testing of SEO regressions, and testing GA4/GTM-related data layer interactions in an automated fashion.
  • Some experience with TypeScript, PHP/Laravel.
  • A deeper understanding of React and Next.js, especially its underlying structures such as SSG & SSR, is a strong plus.
    • Solid knowledge of relational databases and exposure to ETL pipelines is considered a plus.
    • Experience with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
    • Proficiency in Git, with familiarity with Git Flow and GitHub.
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in writing automation tests.

    Tech Stack:

    Our technology stack includes Docker, a headless Laravel-based backend, PostgreSQL, Next.js, TypeScript, Less & Jest for frontend, running on AWS with automated deployments via CircleCI, and Cypress for E2E testing. For data, we utilize Fivetran, DBT, and BigQuery.

    This position reports directly to the Principal QA Engineer and indirectly to the Co-founder, Tech & Growth. You'll be an integral part of the Scrum Development team.
