The second largest city in Czech Republic is Brno with its 400 000 inhabitants. It also has one of the strongest economies in the country alongside with Prague. A lot of foreigners that work in Brno are there to teach English or to work in R&D. Some big IT-companies have moved their offices to Brno in the latest years, so there are some opportunities for applicants with technical skills.

Some say that Brno is the best place to live in Czech Republic, especially if you like a city that is not too big or too small. Brno is something in between. For example, public transport and walking are the more general way of getting around the city. The small town feel in Brno can be seen also in the fact that there’s vast amounts of unspoiled nature around the city and the nature is close even in the city centre.

For expat families there are good international schools available for children. Additionally, Brno offers top class higher education with its many universities specializing in technology and medicine. That is why Brno has lots of life and students especially in the winter time. Mostly people live a very relaxed life. It is common to drink in pubs in Brno, get out of the house and meet friends. For the culture lovers, the city has many theaters, art galleries, and museums that are open all year round.
