Hybrid Data Product Owner for leading iGaming group in Malta 

As a Data Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving requirements, gathering process specifications, prioritizing deliverables, and overseeing overall project planning for the BI & Data Infrastructure team.

You'll be the project maestro, juggling multiple tasks like a pro! Making sure things don't just get done, but on time and to the highest standard in quality. Excellent communication is a must in this role, where you will work closely with our clients team members, and stakeholders across the group.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders from across the organisation, including business users, Data Analysts, BI Developers, and Data Engineers, to collect and document business requirements for business intelligence projects. Use various techniques such as interviews, workshops, and documentation reviews to ensure comprehensive understanding of requirements.
  • Prioritisation and Planning: Analyze business requirements and work with stakeholders to prioritise deliverables based on business needs and goals. Create and maintain project plans, including defining project scope, timelines, and resources required. Ensure that projects are appropriately scoped, estimated, and scheduled to meet business expectations.
  • User Story Creation: Translate business requirements into clear, concise, and actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria. Work closely with the BI & Data Infrastructure team to ensure that user stories are understood and can be implemented effectively.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and other collaborative sessions to ensure that requirements are understood, expectations are managed, and roadblocks are addressed.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with the development team to ensure that deliverables meet the defined requirements and quality standards. Review and provide feedback on deliverables to ensure that they align with business objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the requirements gathering and project planning process. Identify and implement best practices, tools, and techniques to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team's delivery process.

Requirements: 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively gather and document business requirements from diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business scenarios, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and foster effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Project management skills, with experience in creating and maintaining project plans, managing resources, and tracking project progress.
  • Knowledge of business processes and functional domains, such as finance, sales, marketing, or operations.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Will be considered an advantage: 

  • You offer experience in a similar position, ideally within the iGaming industry.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
  • Experience in working with database systems like Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) and/or Azure Databricks
  • Experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Understanding of business intelligence concepts, tools, and technologies, including data modeling, data warehousing, data visualization, and data analytics.
